Several people have asked me what Scripture says about women teaching in the church. As I approached this challenge, I had to empty my mind of any tradition or preconceptions. I wanted to uncover what Scripture says. Then I examined the two sides of the argument; both have legitimate positions. But Scripture cannot contradict itself. So I looked at the historical context of what was happening in Ephesus as well as the textual context of these verses. Then I realized that all passages point to the creation account of Adam and Eve, which is a form of midrash that cannot be interpreted literally. I won't tell you my conclusion. You will have to listen to the 4 session, which is about 2 hours of teaching. But you will be following my approach to answering this question.
